The Iridium Internship Program is a 12-week program dedicated to helping students develop new skills and learn from industry professionals. This summer, Iridium had 36 interns from 25 colleges and universities including Harvard University, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Virginia.

Iridium internships aren’t just for engineering students. Iridium has a variety of internships available in numerous fields such as marketing, sales, finance, and human resources. Interns from this summer worked across 18 departments.

During the program, interns work on projects relating directly to their studies, allowing them to transfer classroom knowledge and skills to the real world.

“I enjoy the work I do at Iridium,” said Drew Halloran, Project Management Intern. “This summer has been very hands-on, and I have gained a lot of experience. I even got to put my name on a few projects!”

Iridium interns also participate in social and volunteer events, as well as lunch & learns—giving them numerous opportunities to interact with employees throughout the company.

“My favorite part of working at Iridium is the people,” said Chloe Stoops, Systems Engineering Intern. “Everyone takes pride in their work and is always willing to talk through ideas. It’s easy to ask for help because the people at Iridium are so kind.”

In addition to their daily work, interns combine their individual skills and knowledge throughout the summer to collaborate on a creative pitch. This includes but is not limited to how to solve a problem or create a new innovative program. At the end of the summer, each group’s unique pitches are presented to Iridium’s Executive Leadership Team.

“I am confident that my time at Iridium is helping me build a solid foundation for my career,” said Luke Batarseh, Marketing Intern. “I’m proud I got to work with a team that has a meaningful impact on the global community and am immensely thankful for the opportunity to work with the wonderful people at Iridium.”

Iridium is ranked as one of Vault’s 100 Best Internships, placing #6 for Best Internships in Tech & Engineering, #11 in Software & Development Roles and #18 in Engineering Roles.

Internship applications are accepted on a rolling basis between September and January until positions are filled.
