Iridium GO!® Honored among SAIL Magazine’s 2015 Pittman Innovation Award Winners

Each year, SAIL magazine recognizes outstanding new products that change the sailing industry by naming them recipients of the Pittman Innovation Award. The award, named for the magazine’s late technical editor Freeman K. Pittman, polls responses from industry experts and, of course, the magazine’s staff itself to help single out the biggest achievements in innovation in sailing each year. Due to that storied background, we are pleased to announce Iridium GO!® was among those honored this year.

Citing the device’s versatility, portability and global coverage area, SAIL’s editors wrote Iridium GO! “promises to set a new standard for global communications among bluewater cruisers.” While it has long been Iridium’s unique pleasure to provide connectivity for sailors at all points on the globe, knowing that we have broadened that access further still – to include users’ own laptops, tablets and smartphones – is a particular point of pride.
