Smithsonian SBD Activation Form

Smithsonian SBD Activation Form

  • Date Format: MM slash DD slash YYYY
  • International Mobile Equipment Identity. A 15-digit number used to identify an SBD Device. This begins with 300.... and is physically on the Iridium modem
  • This is the ability for Iridium to alert (ring) an SBD device to notify it that a message is waiting at the gateway. Once an MT message arrives at the gateway, an alert is sent immediately to the device.
  • Direct IP format: address:port
  • Geo Data is the last known good location (latitude and longitude) of the device. When this option is enabled, Geo Data is included in the message’s content. By default it is enabled for all the delivery destinations.
  • Mobile Originated (MO) Acknowledgement. This setting is used in conjunction with a Direct IP Delivery Destination. The default setting is off. When checked on, the Gateway expects to receive an acknowledgement from the receiving server that it has received the message. If the Gateway does not receive an acknowledgement, it will attempt to re-deliver the message for 12 hours. No other messages will be delivered to the receiving server until the first message is acknowledged.
