Hirschmann Antenna - Embedded PCB Cable Assembly

Hirschmann Car Communication’s embedded Iridium antenna PCB-Assembly provides you with an Iridium certified antenna for quick and reliable integration into your Iridium enabled tracking devices.

Four mounting holes in the circuit board ensure secure installation with stand-offs on the modem’s main circuit board. Depending on the available space the embedded Iridium PCBA may be lifted above other items which might otherwise block the unobstructed view to the Iridium satellites. Alternatively, this antenna can be mounted with 2 mm (0.08 in.) thick double sided adhesive VHB tape directly to the non-conductive modem cover.

The cable length of the standard RG174 low-loss cable and the connector type can be customized to meet the customer’s needs. Other cable types are available upon request.

How it Works
To ensure that the Iridium patch antenna has an unobstructed view to the Iridium satellites, position the embedded Iridium antenna PCB-Assembly (PCBA, Part Number: HIRD-IX-0111) either on top of the Iridium transceiver or next to it with the patch antenna element being at least level with the top of the highest conductive component in the enclosure.

Four mounting holes can be used to securely fasten the PCB-Assembly to stand-offs in the enclosure. Depending on the application it is alternatively feasible to attach the PCB-Assembly with 2 mm (0.08 inches) thick double sided adhesive VHB tape directly to the non-conductive enclosure.
