SuricatePRO was specifically designed for using Iridium devices without a line of sight to the sky. The solution provides coverage extension for Iridium devices for users in mines, secure military installations, hangars, closed facilities and remote locations. This fiber based solution, extends the signal up to 6km enabling users to immediately access the Iridium® satellite constellation, with up to 3 three Iridium devices simultaneously, as if they had clear sky view.
How it Works
The SuricatePRO system includes: Outdoor unit, Indoor unit, fiber optic cable, 4 passive antennas and short coax cables. The SuricatePRO outdoor antennas are placed on the surface of the roof or other facility where it has line of sight to the sky. In constant contact with the satellite, the antennas are connected to an outdoor unit that takes the signals received from the satellite and transfers them to a fiber optic cable which runs indoor up to 6 km. The fiber cable plugs into an indoor unit which transfers the signal back to L-band. The Iridium devices within the facility are then able to pick up a clear signal and can be used as if the devices were outdoors. SuricatePRO comes in an easy to install plug-and-play kit. Once setup, the system enables up to 3 Iridium devices to make simultaneous phone calls, send text messages and receive pages as they normally would. With SuricatePRO, lack of sky view is not an obstacle.
